The Designer module of Genesis Drilling is a risk-analysis tool for fast time and cost predictions based on historical data.
Genesis Drilling (Designer) allows the user to plan a well and rapidly generate time vs depth data and an AFE that are based on selected historical wells. Quality controlled data is utilized to derive probability distributions for well execution times and subsequent costs for the planned well.
Genesis Designer uses advanced selection procedures to select appropriate wells to include in the statistical calculations of the time vs depth data. Wells or individual phases may be chosen to be used based on their similarity to the planned well.
The Time vs Depth module allows the user to construct an operational tree that is the basis for the planned well. It calculates normal distribution times for drilling operations per hole section from historical well data. These are used as input for a risk estimation of time versus depth through a customizable Monte Carlo simulator. The user can modify the distributions or alternatively use deterministic values for selected operations.

The simulated time vs depth curves (Plow, Pmean, Phigh) are used in the Authority for Expenditure (Well Cost) module. By correlation of operational times to user defined costs, a final well cost estimate is calculated for times with or without trouble included.
The Well Report module finalizes the planning process by generating a planned well report. This report can be customized to suit the clients' needs.
